High-quality plastic (polyethylene) is processed using the rotational molding process, which guarantees the high quality of the produced parts. For its range of autonomous products controlled by a remote control, Lumisky has chosen a very high-end battery, rechargeable with a transformer or by induction.

To better understand rotational molding, here are the 4 steps:

  • Preparation of raw materials : Polyethylene is the most commonly used material in rotational molding manufacturing, so it is fully controlled.
  • Mold loading : An exact amount of raw material (usually powder) is placed inside a mold, depending on the desired thickness. The mold can be made of steel or aluminum depending on the appearance and quality of the required product. Then, the mold is closed and placed in the oven.
  • Mold heating : Once in the oven, the mold begins rotating on two axes. As the temperature increases, the raw material begins to melt and expand, taking the shape of the inner sides of the mold.
  • Mold Cooling : When the mold comes out of the oven, it is placed in a cooling zone where the material solidifies. Once the product reaches the appropriate temperature, it is ready to be removed. This cycle is repeated continuously. The finishing of the parts includes: visual and manual inspection, milling, cutting, machining, and the addition of accessories such as LED bases, etc. before gently placing the product in its final packaging. This entire process allows us to obtain high-quality parts.

At the heart of the trend.

To embrace the natural trend, we're currently collaborating with Vietnamese and Tunisian artisans to create lampshades and lighting fixtures made from natural materials such as date palm fiber, woven seagrass, and water hyacinth. These unique lighting fixtures are artisanal and handcrafted, meaning dimensions, shape, and color may vary from model to model. The color of natural lampshades softens over time. Date palm fiber is sourced from renewable natural resources, without deforestation or competition with food production.
